How can a consultation fit into your trip?
Start with your travel dates and the questions you want answered. You can explore a consultation without deciding on a treatment in advance.
- Before you contact a clinic: list your questions, preferred language and travel dates.
- When you speak with the clinic: ask how the consultation works, who will assess you and what information they need directly from you.
- Before making a booking: confirm the written quote, follow-up arrangements and the clinician’s advice about your planned activities.
What should a quote make clear?
- Consultation or assessment fees
- The proposed service and what is included
- Any additional products, visits or charges
- Cancellation, refund and follow-up arrangements

Questions to bring to the clinic
- Who will assess me, and who will provide each part of the service?
- What options, alternatives and risks should I understand?
- What follow-up could be needed, including after I return home?
- Who can I contact if I have a concern?
- Are my travel dates and planned activities compatible with the proposed care?
Ask the clinician to explain the reasons for any recommendation, including reasons to postpone or avoid a proposed treatment.
